Installing hydraulic actuators in seawater environments is a challenge. All the more so if the seawater has a temperature of above +40° Celsius (104° Fahrenheit), and installation is under continuously submerged conditions in ballast water tanks.
   
We were asked to design exactly that. The system was ordered for installation on the Floating Production Storage and Offloading Unit "Western Isles" of DANA petroleum.
     
Experienced SANDER engineers designed a tailor-made HPU solution that results in a rigorous reduction of the runtime to 40 minutes standstill time. The benefit: less vibration, less noise, less energy consumption, extended maintenance periods.
